The primary purpose of the South African Engineering Training Centre (SAETC) is to provide private individuals and company employees with skills in welding and related engineering practices, enabling them to obtain job-related qualifications and professional welding and engineering expertise.

Part of the company’s mission is to manufacture and construct engineering components according to client specifications and to supply the industry with engineering tools and safety equipment.
SAETC’s clients include engineering companies, engineering students, marine and offshore seafarers, petrochemical industry specialists, and entrepreneurs in the welding sector.

At SAETC we will assist you with your Trade Test Preparation. You have the option of studying either full time or part time, and we offer either on-site or remote training.

Our Courses
We offer 3 training options
1. Skills Programme
Skills Programmes focus on practical, simulation and/or work experience. The objective is for certified learners to be more likely to secure employment or be more employable. These Skills Programmes can be provided at entry, intermediate, or advanced levels.

2. ARPL
Artisan Recognition of Prior Leaning (ARPL) is "a program aimed at qualifying Semi-Skill Welders as Artisans on the basis of their prior learning and experience in the welding trade.

3. Trade Test
The Manpower Training Act (No 56 of 1981) makes provision for two categories of candidates to undergo a trade test.
Or a SOR received after successful completed an evaluation.
